Did you know that April is Fair Housing Awareness Month?
In addition to the Code of Ethics, the MLS Rules require you to follow Fair Housing Laws. While the Code of Ethics Article 10 addresses non-discrimination, MLS rule 12.5.1(f) requires that all listing content, including the public and confidential remarks, follows Fair Housing Laws. Be sure to avoid potentially discriminatory phrases in your listing.
For more information on the Fair Housing Act, please visit www.nar.realtor/fair-housing or visit the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development’s site.
