Board of Director Candidates for 2025/2026
Bay East Association of REALTORS® Nominating Committee is proud to present the candidates for the 2025/2026 Board of Directors.
In accordance with the Bylaws, Article X, Section 20, Nominations the Candidate slate is sent to the Board of Directors as an FYI. The slate is considered elected unless a petition is filed.
In 2022 several proposed Bylaw changes related to the Board of Directors election/nomination process went to the membership for vote and passed. The changes were to make all Directors At-large and not elected by District, and to form a Nominating Committee to interview and develop a slate of candidates. These changes were first implemented with the appointment/election of the 2023/2024 Board of Directors. The changes resulted in more candidates in 2023 and 2024, than we have had in the last 10 years.
In accordance with Bylaws Article X, Section 20, additional candidates for President-Elect, Treasurer and Directors may be placed in nomination by petition signed by at least ten percent (10%) of Bay East REALTOR® Members eligible to vote (approximately 630). The petition shall be filed with the Chief Executive Officer, or their designee, at the offices of Bay East by 2:00pm on May 10, 2024. Such petition shall contain a statement signed by the candidate that they meet the criteria for the Board of Directors position as set forth in the Bylaws and is aware of the duties and responsibilities of the office and agrees to serve.
Petition forms are available by contacting Kelsey Paredes. Once a petition is received, staff will verify that the petition has been signed by 10% of Bay East REALTOR® members in good standing. Once verified, there will be an election for that position on the Board of Directors. Election will be by electronic ballot and will open June 7 and close at 2:00 pm on June 21. If no petitions are received or the petition does not meet the requirements the Nominating Committee’s candidate slate will stand as approved.

Thank you, Bay East members, for the opportunity to serve as one of your Directors for 2025-2026. As a REALTOR® who has reaped immeasurable benefits from our Association over the past 18 years, I believe it is critical for Bay East to advocate for and grow its own value proposition to its membership, to deliver on initiatives to help members grow and defend their businesses, and to ensure Bay East remains relevant to REALTORS® and Affiliate members — especially when it comes time to write out that check at dues renewal time, year after year!
Tina Jackson Walda
Tina Jackson-Walda, REALTOR® & Business Owner 20 years – Current
My interest and intentions to join the Board of Directors for Bay East is an opportunity to continue the necessary work both in continuing education for licensed brokers/real estate agents to maintain elevating the profession. As well as keeping with best practices, ethical and informative conversations with the public when they are engaged as clients for real estate transactions and/or management service agreements. In addition, setting meaningful policies which create opportunities for real property ownership thru lending practices and working with local government entities to address updating old/ outdated and discriminatory language within zoning laws which prohibit/restrict property ownership in communities.
Sharon Mancillas
My name is Sharon Mancillas and I received my real estate license in January 1987 after working for a local real estate developer for several years and I continue to provide a full-time real estate business. During the past 38 years I served as the 2014 Association President of the Pasadena-Foothills Association of REALTORS® and 1993 President of the Alameda Board of REALTORS® – now known as Bay East. I also hold the following professional designations: Certified International Property Specialist, Certified Residential Specialist, Seniors Real Estate Specialist, Women’s Council of REALTORS®, and Performance Management Network. I served on numerous Local, State and National committees, including my membership in the Women’s Council of REALTORS® since 1990, AREAA – Asian Real Estate Association of America, and Global Property Specialist. I am affiliated with Keller Williams Advisors in Alameda and serve as Bay East Board of Director seeking another term, C.A.R. Board of Director, C.A.R. Vice Chair of Global Real Estate Group, and Chair of our Local Government Relations Alameda Committee. My business is mostly from my loyal repeat and referral clients. My goal with Bay East is to continue reaching out to our members and share information about this wonderful association and what it has to offer our members. To get our members excited to want to get involved and become a walking talking billboard about Bay East and share information relevant about the real estate industry.
On a personal level, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my granddaughter who will be turning 4 this May. Learning how to cook some amazing meals from my husband who is a retired chef, and my goal this year is to brush up on my magic skills. We have two rescue pups that keep us very busy.

I want to continue to serve on the Bay East Board of Directors because I have seen the positive impact of decisions made on issues that affect us as Bay East members and on our local real estate initiatives as a whole. We can truly make a difference!
