Important MLS Update: DMLS/CDMLS will be replaced with DOM/CDOM – Effective Aug 11

Important MLS Update:  DMLS/CDMLS will be replaced with DOM/CDOM

 

Effective Tuesday, August 11, we will be replacing Days on MLS (DMLS) and Cumulative Days on MLS (CDMLS) with Days on Market (DOM) and Cumulative Days on Market (CDOM).

The reason for replacing DMLS/CDMLS with DOM/CDOM is to ensure reports reflect zero when a COMING SOON status listing is updated to NEW.  DMLS is calculated based on the “Input Date”  (the date you enter the listing into the MLS) and DOM is calculated based on the “List Date” field in the MLS.

Currently, when a COMING SOON status listing is updated to NEW, the list date does not change.  As a result, the following issues occur:

 

1. There is a discrepancy for DOM on most 3rd party sites/products for listings entered with a COMING SOON status because they use the list date field to calculate DOM.  For example a listing under the COMING SOON status for 20 days updated to NEW, will display DOM of 20 days on most 3rd party sites/products.

2. COMING SOON listings updated to NEW do not show under the Market Monitor.

3. Agents compare the list date to DMLS and call to report that the count does not match.

 

Effective August 11, when a COMING SOON status listing is updated to NEW, the list date will update as well.  This change will resolve the issues noted above.

Please note:  You will still see the DMLS/CDMLS numbers under the “History” tab.
