It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of a Past President, Mike Jacinto. Mike joined the association in 1981 and contributed his time, ideas, skills and energy at every level of the association. He served many years on the Bay East Board of Directors prior to being elected as President in 1990. He also served on the California Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors, helping craft and lobby for financing legislation at the State and National level. Mike continued to stay involved with Bay East long after his presidency ended. He was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, the Past Presidents Committee and he has served as the Chair of the Investment Advisory Committee since 2008. Under his leadership, this committee approved policies and investments that have grown the Association’s reserves, enabling us to purchase our office building in Pleasanton two years ago. He has been recognized numerous times for his many contributions to Bay East, beginning with the REALTOR® of the Year Award in 1988. He later received the Outstanding Leadership Award recipient in 1993, 1998 and 2015 and the John Deadrich Leadership Award in 2014.
Mike was also a generous supporter of Bay East events, both financially and through his participation. He was a mentor to others and always had an encouraging word for the leadership and staff of Bay East. He truly led the way and he will be missed.
If you would like to send a card or message to his wife, Mary Robertson, you can address it to her, care of the Bay East Association of REALTORS®, 7021 Koll Center Parkway, Pleasanton, CA 94566.
